A 'kissathon' protest against Sainsbury's
15 August 2016
Considering that the UK is one of the most open-minded country in the world, there are occasional slip-ups.
A gay couple holding hands in an east London supermarket were asked to leave.
What happened next can only be described as true act of human empathy. Some 200 people carrying rainbow flags descended on the offending supermarket for a mass "kissathon".
Thomas Rees and Joshua Bradwell were in Sainsbury's on Hackney Road when a guard told them a customer had complained about ttheir expression of affection.
Sainsbury's apologised for the incident and offered the couple a £10 voucher.
