Farewell Alessia Bouchlas
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alessia Bouchlas - a wonderful friend and great supporter of Youmanity.
Alessia was instrumental at the onset of our charity. She devoted her free time to putting together documents that would later be used in Youmanity's formal application to the Charity Commission of England & Wales.
As a volunteer, Alessia ensured that our charitable mission would be upheld and respected by all, so immensely proud she was of our efforts.
Alessia moved to London in 1999 to build a successful career in Information Security. Over the years, she delivered a range of highly specialised services, including Disaster Recovery, Audits and Security solutions for both the financial and legal sectors. She obtained a Masters Degree in Information Security from the University of London which coupled with her analytical and detail-orientated approach allowed her to work at several prestigious international firms in highly pressured environments.
There are no words to describe the void left behind by the incredibly caring person that Alessia was. She will be remembered for her generosity and unique determination to accomplish results for the benefit of the people around her, the community and the LGTB rights that mattered so much to her.
Our thoughts are with her family and many friends at this time.
