LGBT History Month is here!
LGBT History Month is celebrated in February in the UK. The objective behind this month-long string of events is to raise awareness of the wonderful work gay people and gay-friendly organisations have achieved for the promotion of social inclusion.
In addition, this year the official LGTB HM website will look at Citizenship, PSHE and Law as we mark the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of male homosexuality in England and Wales.
For those of you who do not know, the Sexual Offences Act was passed on the 27th July 1967 was the first stepping stone towards acceptance. Despite the fact that the Act only related to men, it did have an important impact on the whole LGBT community. The UK finally accepted same sex relationships between men for the first time in five hundred years.
