The media often states, incorrectly, that terrorists carry out attacks on the basis of their religion. Truth often is that the reason for this lies elsewhere. For example, Omar Mateen, responsible for the Orlando nightclub massacre was a closeted homosexual who decided to wipe out the very same ground he used to cruise looking for men. This scenario reflects some deeply rooted psychological issues in the mind of a ‘terrorist’ who goes totally the other way in an attempt to turn a ‘defect’ into a virtue.
