Supporting Gerentology
Established in 1971, the British Society of Gerontology (BSG) actively explores ways to raise the profile of senior citizens by seeking the support of politicians, civil servants and policy-makers.
The BSG works in partnership with other important charitable organisations including Age-UK in order to apply the knowledge gained through gerontology research to improve quality of life in old age.
Understanding and raising awareness of the challenges which come with later life is of concern to each and every one of us. It is for this very same reason that Youmanity teamed up with BSG, AGE UK and OPAAL to promote their annual photography award.

The images showcased on this page are the winning photographs from a recent competition, "Ageing: the bigger picture" organised by BSG in collaboration with Photocrowd and the London College of Fashion. The Jury must have had quite a difficult task selecting the winner as these photographs are simply stunning.
