The children’s trainers arrived in Laos
Last August we reported on a wonderful charitable initiative: CONVERSION.
Supported by Youmanity, the initiative consisted in collecting children’s trainers to be passed onto the children in Laos. Renowned for being great rugby players - many children there play barefoot because they do not have access to boots.
It is for this reason that Steve Blevins - the founder of CONVERSION - began the scheme of collecting trainers in the UK back in April.
And it was the children of the Shrewsbury House School in Surbiton who managed to collect over 500 pairs of trainers for their peers in Laos.
Sent via DHL, their 250-kilo consignment finally arrived in Laos last Friday. The trainers are in the hands of the Laos Rugby Federation - see image!
Youmanity congratulates the children of the Shrewsbury House School and all involved in the scheme for this altruistic gesture!
