Thrive LDN
Youmanity report on an important mental health organisation whose objective is not only to help improve Londoners’ wellbeing, but also help dispel the stigma associated with mental health issues.
Please meet Thrive LDN - a citywide movement supported by Sadiq Khan and led by the London Health Board partners.
Did you now that at least two million Londoners experience poor mental health every year? And did you know that Londoners’ feelings of self-esteem are lower than the national average? Thrive LDN was the Mayor’s response to these facts!
Since its foundation in 2017, Thrive LDN has launched a number of mental wellbeing campaigns, most notable amongst these is the Are we OK London? The campaign consisted in initiating an open conversation with Londoners about mental health and wellbeing.
As a result, the ‘Are we OK London?’ campaign generated some 420,000 interactions with Londoners and mental health professionals. It actually delivered important community workshops in half of the London boroughs, again, to start an important mental health dialogue at community level. These practical, no frills events brought together residents, including mental health service users, carers and the many organisations that support them.
Youmanity applauds Thrive LDN’s work. Their efforts are sure to encourage better cooperation between boroughs, health services, the emergency services and the voluntary sectors when dealing with people with mental health issues.
