THRIVE marks WMHD with online Festival!
Thrive LDN, in partnership with the Mayor of London’s Peer Outreach Team, will be hosting young Londoner-led festival to mark World Mental Health Day on Saturday 10 October 2020. Due to current restrictions, this festival will be a mixture of live and pre-recorded content online events
The festival is primarily designed to support young people, to promote resilience and support wellbeing. The festival will offer a platform for discussing challenges faced during COVID-19 as well as exploring experiences of inequality and issues raised through the Black Lives Matter movement. Important panel of discussions and workshops will ask young people what we can do collectively to overcome systemic racism and inequality and support one another. The festival will also align and coincide with Black History Month.
World Mental Health Day is an opportunity for young people to come together (virtually) in London and across the globe to discuss these challenges and explore solutions to them. Furthermore, Thrive LDN acknowledges that young people are increasingly turning to activism, such as through the Black Lives Matter movement, to voice their concern for and take action to address some of the world’s biggest challenges.
