Youmanity is a Registered Charity
Youmanity is pleased to announce that the Charity Commision has approved Youmanity as a registered charity for England and Wales.
It will be exactly ten years this coming June (2018) that Youmanity has been active as a charitable organisation. It has delivered numerous cultural projects - including a collection of educational films - promoting the importance of cultural diversity and social inclusion. More notably, it has delivered seven photography awards exploring sensitive themes: migration, human trafficking, social identity, age, sexual and gender discrimination.
Over the years first class photographs from participants around the world have bennd showcased in prime locations in London. Whitehall's Royal Horseguards, King's College London, the London College of Communication are some of Youmanity's favourite locations.
Given the themes explored and underlined by the organisation's previous projects, it is not surprising that the Charity Commission confirmed Youmanity's Objectives as follow:
‘The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by:
(a) the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage, civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity;
(b) advancing education and raising awareness in equality and diversity;
(c) promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds;
d) cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity;
And to carry this out through a variety of mediums including (but not exclusively) the arts, talks, interviews, conferences and social media.’
"Youmanity is looking forward to delivering more projects for the public benefit. Soon the 8th edition of the photography award will be announced. In the meantime, we are looking for volunteers who can hopefully assist with the planning and delivering of the work in pipeline. In praticular, we are looking for fundraisers to help materialise the many projects", said the Chair of Youmanity, Angelo Iudice.
